At a service at St Mary's Cathedral, Johannesburg on 19 April 2015 to dedicate the sculpture 'Sinethemba' (we have hope), the hymn 'Lord, for the years' was sung with a new verse written for South Africa today by Douglas Board. The new words can be downloaded here. The service came almost twenty-one years after the arrival of democracy in South Africa, and twenty and one half years after the sculpture of which 'Sinethemba' is a twin was dedicated at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. An image of the sculpture at St Martin's by Chaim Stephenson can be seen here.
