The Northern Refugee Centre is a dynamic organisation in Yorkshire and the Humber which is working in partnership with the Refugee Council to create better lives for refugees in that region. This talk, at the Northern Refugee Centre's annual general meeting in Sheffield on 24 January 2011, examines the reality of trying to create the 'Big Society' which the Government espouses in the face of severe cuts.
