As we approach a General Election some of Britain's proudest voters will be refugees who have paid the true price for fragile or non-existent democracy in their original countries. Disbelieved by us, unjustly treated, sometimes made destitute for years before being recognised, these individuals have chosen to save up £720 and studied to pass the examination required since 2005 to become British citizens.
